A Monster on Trial for Robbery & Murder
Steve Harmon, a sixteen year African American male is on trial for the robbery and murder of Mr. Nesbit, a local drugstore owner. Harmon says he didn’t commit or take part in the crimes. The defense attorney, Ms. O’Brien, is trying to prove Harmon's innocence to the judge, the jury, and the people of the community. Her argument is that Osvaldo Cruz and Richard "Bobo" Evans acquaintances of Harmon are lying about his involvement in the crime. She argues that Steve is an innocent young man. However, Ms. Petrocelli is trying to prove to them that James King and Steve Harmon are both guilty young men and labels Steve a monster for his part in the crime. As he awaits the verdict Steve Harmon decides to write his trial as a movie using a journal to pass time. He admits to being at the drug store then changes his story and says he didn’t go near the drug store on the day of the robbery and murder on the 22 of December. His excuse was that he was filming his neighborhood for a class project. Ms. Petrocelli is convinced that he was lying. She kept trying to convince the people of the jury that they both were guilty. Follow this story as it unfolds.
